These two goofballs won the "Seattle's Luckiest Fan" contest last year... a contest we held in conjuntion with the Seattle newspapers and the Sonics. They won, and have been used at various Sonics events since. This particular picture was taken on my birthday back in June at the Draft Day Party.

Go Hawks!

One of the highlights of my job has been the opportunity to 1. Work with the Seahawks,they really are a fantastic and caring organization.... 2. Learn a little bit about football while I'm at it :). In fact, someone just e-mailed me an updated Excel Spreadsheet explaining the different playoff scenarios that could take place at this point. I love it! Anyhow, here are a few personal highlights of my involvement with this year's Seahawks season.

Meeting Mike

Earlier this month I had the honor of meeting one Presidential Candidate, Governor Mike Huckabee while he was in town for a fundraiser. I was very impressed with a lot of things I saw in him that night, but what stuck out to me the most was his optimism and his generational vision...clearly things I value as well. I haven't made a full, conscious decision to support him personally, but I am now determined to pay more attention to and carefully consider this candidate who is suddenly surging forward in Iowa.

Parking Hazards

I have so much more to blog about, I really do, but all I have energy to blog about right now is this picture. This is what happens when you park your car on the wrong street before a parade. I was cracking up when I went back to my car and found this.

I'm back!

Wow, I'm worse at this than I thought I'd be. Since the last time I wrote, I've been to Hawaii and somehow, this is one of the only group shots I ended up with. In fact, you wouldn't believe how few pictures I really did take while there. I guess I could have taken last year's pics, posted them and you really wouldn't have known the difference. Melody and I had another WONDERFUL Hawaiian vacation together with "the ladies." We have been so fortunate to have these opportunities to go to Hawaii together with our family. This year we pretty much did the same thing... a whole lot of nothing. I love my trips to Hawaii with Melody. Mel, you are the best, and I'm so grateful for the time and fun we had together last month.

Per the request of my dear friend and crack reporter, Jim Valley (shown in this picture taken at a recent work BBQ, he's on the right), here is an update. Yes, I did actually go back to that dance class, but that night "my krumping instructor" was too tired for krumping, so we did some "house dancing." The fundamentals were basically the same as salsa dancing, so I was just fine. This has been a long week, and I have more to say, but not now. I'm ready for the weekend......

Hip-hop in Renton

Ok, so I joined a gym and thought I'd try out the hip-hop class. In retrospect, I guess this is what I was picturing... "Dance with Lisa...Cardio * Dance * Core"

But that's not what I got... let's just say, hip-hop isn't the same in Maple Valley. You've gotta know what you're doing here. After standing in the corner, laughing at myself for about 5 minutes. I gracefully took my leave.

Success Is Under Construction

I was in BIG trouble when my sister came home from the East coast (she's working on a cruise ship over there), discovered I have a blog, and she wasn't on it... yet. On this particular day we stopped by our old middle school and each took a picture with the sign. Mine wasn't this cute, so I'll just post Tati's picture. Anyhow, I thought the sign was absolutely perfect. "Success is under construction." Sis, you may still be unsure of exactly where you want to go with your life, but I am so excited for what your future has in store. I believe it's going to be filled with success and so many great things! I love you.

My Job

Where do I begin??? As most of you know, I have found myself working in radio, with a job that I absolutely love. I work with amazing and talented people, I feel like I truly get to make a difference in the world, and there's always something new happening around the studios. Here are a few photos from earlier this month. In the same week I (finally!) met my neighbor, Auburn's very own Sir Mix-a-Lot (which led to my first on-air interview with Sytman and Boze) and I had the chance to meet our newest host on KTTH, Glenn Beck, who popped in the building to say hello.

Viva Las Vegas

Man, I'm on a roll here with this blog. Let me remind you though, I'm on vacation and have barely left my house since my trip. Here are a few more pictures from Las Vegas... pics I can show the entire world, that is ;). Just kidding.... LOVED this trip.

Anne Night

Last night was "Anne Night" - a night to celebrate our dear friend Anne who is home for the summer. Anne, Kevin and family... we love and miss you tremendously, but we are so proud of you. Keep it up!!! (Just come home more often.)

Ladies and Gentlemen, let me introduce you to Marci

For those of you who have not had the pleasure of meeting my amazing roomate, Marci, here she is! Yep, she's just as adorable in person and keeps me laughing all the time. We just took a trip to Las Vegas (along with Amy and our friends Lance and Dan from City Church) and laughed for 4 days straight. We had such an amazing trip! This trip was inspired, of course, by one rainy Saturday afternoon, when she and I went to go see Ocean's 13. More pics of that trip to come.

Finally....

I know you all gave up on me, perhaps months, even years ago... but I've finally entered the digital camera age and have no excuse to not share (in words and pictures) about this crazy and fun life I find myself living. Actually, having to run the website at work didn't hurt either. I really did try to create a blog a long time ago, had no clue how to do it. Now I know some HTML code and "speak geek." No promises as to how often I'll post on this site, but we'll see how it goes. So, hello friends... here I am! :)
